Let’s face it, as marketers our most valuable asset is our list, so we need to take every possible opportunity to capture opt in leads. No doubt you have an opt in advertising campaign on your blog, but many haven’t yet begun to incorporate this strategy into their Facebook profiles.

The video above (youtube is in maintenance mode…check back on Tuesday) provides a visual demonstration of the steps I took to add this useful yet subtle “pitch” to my facebook page. In order to help you follow along I’ve added the steps below, along with the code that I’m using on my Facebook page to produce opt in leads.

Your code may look very different from mine, but the basic principles should be the same.

1. Resize your opt in box graphic to a maximum of 180 pixels & upload it to your blog
   
2. Copy the opt in leads capture code from your blog into the HTML Profile Box in Facebook
3. If the code contains a video, delete it (start at the tr tag and delete through the /tr tag)
4. If your code is set within a table, change the table width to 180
5. Edit the code that places the image in your opt in, to a width of 180
6. Change width in form code section to 180 (2 edits should be made here)
7. Replace image url with the url of the newly uploaded (resized) image
   
8. To decrease the size of the boxes in your form, change name widths to 150 & input widths to 110
9. Edit padding values – change last number to 0 (I also changed value preceding this to 20
10. Change form margin to 0

Have you ever known you had to make a change in your life, and even wanted to WANT to make that change, but not had the mindset to make it happen? Well, that’s where I’ve been for the last few months and I have to tell you, I often feel like a hypocrite.

I mean really, “Achieve Health, Wealth and Inner Peace…then Pay it Forward”. That is my mantra, and if you’ve read about my struggles with rheumatoid arthritis disease you know that I’ve been able to turn my back on the pharmaceutical drugs that brought me back to health, and to overcome a debilitating chronic illness using totally natural solutions. So yes, my experiences have brought me to a place where I’m very grateful for my good health and value it perhaps more than some who tend to take it for granted.

Not only do I attribute my disease to a lifetime of poor eating habits, but intellectually I realize that I am likely to suffer more health problems if I don’t make a change. AND, I’m less than ignorant when it comes to what Jeff Olson has termed “the slight edge”.

So, what’s the problem? One word, addiction. One solution, detoxification of body.

In keeping with the perfection of the Universe, I’ve been getting hit on the head lately over and over with the concept of detoxification of body. It made sense, I knew that the right thing for me to do was to start a program to detox my body, and I kept eating crap. Until Monday morning.

Like any other day, I woke up, weighed myself, and brushed my teeth. Maybe it was the fact that I was using the natural toothpaste I had just purchased after having a discussion with a friend about the poisonous properties of brand name toothpaste (a story for another day…). Maybe it was that my weight was unacceptable to me. Maybe it was that I felt sick and tired of feeling lethargic. Probably a combination deal, but I knew that it was detoxification of body day 1.

There was no question, there was no inner grumbling, just knowing. Finally I had the proper mindset to detox my body and begin on a road to my best health! Mindset is everything!!

As I sat with my family at dinner, watching them eat the chicken parmesan I had prepared (one of my favorite meals…) my 16 year old son tried to start a pool to guess how long it would take me to cave – nice, right? After 16 years it’s hard to believe that he still doesn’t get that when I really believe in something I stick with it!

Here in day 3, I’m finding it easier than I ever would have expected. I’m not hungry, and have walked past a container of Goldfish on the counter several times today (I should probably put that away….). Honestly, the most difficult part has been drinking enough water.

If this post is part of the Universe hitting you over the head, and you’ve come to the point where your mindset is in the right place, you can find many plans online for detoxification of body. What I am doing is very simple – nothing but fruits, vegetables, water (8 glasses a day), and green tea for 7 days, which I will follow with a colon cleanse as a final step to detox my body. After that I’ll begin to add other healthy foods.

I’m sharing this confession and proclamation with you for a few reasons:

• There’s something about making a public declaration that helps to keep us accountable. Knowing that I will feel foolish if I publish this post then don’t follow through with it is just 1 of the many things that will keep me committed, even if the going gets rough.
  
• If this resonates with even just one person, who takes action to improve his or her life, it will be of value.
  
• The principles here can be taken into any and every aspect of your life, whether it’s detoxification of body, determination to do the next best thing for yourself, or any other fill in the blank goal that you wish to accomplish.

OK, so being on board a cruise ship during a Santa Claus Vacation was really awesome. Apparently Santas from all over gather every January to unwind after a cold, busy December. And this year they just happened to be cruising on the same ship as us – how cool is that?

What made this special event even better, though, was the opportunity I was able to take advantage of.

Against my husband’s advice, who told me I’d never find a chair on the crowded  “adults only” Serenity deck, I strolled down to that special place in search of a little piece of heaven. Yes, every chair was taken but as I scoped out the situation I noticed a man getting up and gathering his belongings – SCORE! Law of attraction at work, without a doubt!

Anyways, I just happened to have my camera and flip videocam along with me and was delighted to realize that the large group of people hovering together in the center of the deck were taking pictures of a group of Santas that were enjoying the hot tub.

After marking my territory (the much coveted deck chair) by placing my belongings on it, I ventured over to the group with camera and video cam in hand, only to witness the joy of a Santa Claus vacation sing-along. Complete with a frolicking “trop rock” group and cookies and milk, this scene is sure to bring a smile to your face – whether you believe in Santa or not!

The morale of the story: it’s a wonderful thing to be at the right place at the right time, but it’s oh so much sweeter if you also happen to have the tools you need to make the best of every opportunity.

Many of us have been taught that an abundance of money and religion are mutually exclusive of one another. In other words, it’s impossible for us to live a truly spiritual life while at the same time being financially prosperous.

Take for example the Bible quote which most of us have heard over and over throughout our lives, “money is the root of all evil”. Did you know that the actual  Bible verse 1 Timothy 6: 7-10 states, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil”?

You see, God wants us to be prosperous, just as we ourselves want that for our own children. What he does not want is for us to desire an abundance of money more than we desire our own spirituality and all that entails.

I’m focusing on the subject of money and religion here because many of us are carrying around blocks to our success that we may not even be aware of. It’s time to recognize those blocks, become free from their limiting effects on our lives, and prosper as God and the Universe have intended.

I’m not talking about paying some company huge sums of money to promote your content. This is totally free blog syndication and if done properly it will rock your world and your business. How so?

• First, it will drastically improve your SEO (search engine optimization), meaning that your blog will rank better with the search engines and more people will see your content. After all, that’s what it’s all about, right?

• Second, tribe syndication will help you to create some powerful strategic alliances with other bloggers with whom you share similar mindset, beliefs, and commitment to success. I’ve seen many of these friendships turn into profitable business partnerships, and have personally benefitted from this type of result on more than one occasion.

• Third, participation in a free blog syndication network requires you to get in the trenches and actually read blog content posted by your peers.  Yes it takes time but when you partner with top bloggers you’ll be amazed at the lessons you’ll take away from the inspiring, educational, and practical information they post.

So, how can you reap all these rewards, and more? Obviously, tribe syndication is the answer – but there is one important element of using free blog syndication. Without this one you will definitely not be maximizing the true potential of your blog syndication network.

Drumroll, please….the one element that can either make or break your tribe syndication results is accountability. I know this because I’ve been involved in tribes with and without the accountability factor.

Trust me, it’s pretty disappointing when you devote several hours during the course of a week to promoting the members of your blog syndication network, only to find that your content has been barely syndicated.

So, how can you be sure this doesn’t happen to you? Tribes are popping up all over the blogging world, and it’s not difficult to find one to join. Before you make the commitment (and have no doubt, belonging to the right tribe is a commitment…), make sure the tribe(s) you join include the following:

• Accountability
  Members should be required to provide free blog syndication on a certain schedule. For example, one of my tribes has a weekly tribe power hour each Tribe Tuesday, where we meet with fellow tribesmen and women on skype and get to work syndicating each others’ content. If a member can’t make it to the power hour, he or she is expected to promote fellow bloggers as soon as it is convenient.

• Committed Tribe Members
  Remember, you will be promoting these fellow bloggers and their work. You want to be sure that the information they’re putting out is valuable content, and that they have demonstrated a commitment to the blogging process. I’ve spotlighted a few of my tribe members on a special page and invite you to check out their awesome posts.

• Rotating Tribe Teams
  You don’t want the same people promoting your blog week after week after week. An effective tribe should have a system in place where teams are mixed up every couple of weeks.

• Sense of Community
  One of my tribes is built around a ning community, where training and support is offered. This sense of community really brings us together in reaching our common goals and helps us to form incredible personal and business relationships. Another group centers around a Facebook page. Both groups provide a team atmosphers that fosters the development of wonderful friendships.

• Leadership & Organization
  There has to be a person or team calling the shots and keeping everyone organized. Without strong leadership and organization there can never be team success. Look for leaders who have created a name for themselves online. For example, I belong to one blog syndication network that is led by a group of bloggers who have developed an entirely new online concept called Tribe Tuesday. You may not know what it is today but believe me when I tell you it will be more popular than Twitter’s Follow Friday in a matter of months. Now that’s strong leadership!

Now get out there and join a tribe syndication team that will help you to rock your business and your world!

Tribe Tuesday? What is that, you may ask…well hold onto your hats because you’re about to learn about one of the most inventive ideas to come down the highway in quite some time. Way bigger than Follow Friday, because it will give you much greater exposure and benefits than the popular #FF.

If you take a good look around my blog you may notice that my more recent posts have substantially more retweets, comments, and Facebook shares than my older ones. In fact, my most recent submission, dated just 3 days ago, has 11 retweets and 9 comments – while a very well written, informative post I wrote 6 months ago / has 1 retweet and 0 comments.

Not only is the older article written on a subject very near and dear to the heart of practically every blogger out there, but it’s been available for viewers for a substantially longer period of time. When you do the math, it just makes sense that it should have a far greater number of retweets and comments than the brand new content, right.?

So, what’s the difference? You guessed it….Tribe Tuesday!

Tribe Tuesday is a brand spanking new concept that is bringing both novice and expert bloggers tremendous exposure.  It’s being used in conjunction with blog syndication networks and is so phenomenal that it’s popping up all over the place in Twitter as a hash tag, much like the well known #Follow Friday.

It all revolves around us helping each other out, which is so much more refreshing than the old school business philosophy that competition is the name of the game. What’s happening is that tribes from all over the world are gathering on Tuesdays and promoting each others’ content. This includes blog syndication and commenting, Twitter retweets, social bookmarking,  Facebook shares, and subscribing to each others’ video sites then rating and commenting on videos.

Wow! Does that sound like a lot of work? I guess it all depends on how you look at it. Would you rather be all alone out there promoting your own work, or have a team of others who are doing it for you? Kind of a no-brainer, right?

The tribe Tuesday concept revolves around the whole principle of leveraging. Most of us have been taught that it’s better to work with others to leverage our time and efforts than to work alone. Just as Fridays have been designated as the day to promote our favorite Twitter “peeps”, Tuesdays have been designated as the day to take massive action on behalf of our fellow tribe syndication partners;  hence the name…

If you haven’t yet embraced the concept of joining a tribe to work together on blog syndication I highly advise you to do so. Be sure that you do some research and find the right tribe (this one action can make all the difference in your results).  If you haven’t found a tribe that feels right to you, I’m involved in 2 that I would highly recommend.
